Frequently asked questions

"Can anybody learn to sing? I AM GENUINELY SO BAD! I couldn't possibly get any better."

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard this, I'd be rich! But it definitely feels more rewarding when I watch people prove themselves wrong and see their confidence improve when they nail a technique we've been working on.

My honest opinion is that yes, you can. If you can learn to talk, you can learn to sing.

Babies begin making noises before they talk. They babble and hum and they experiment with sound. Everything comes down to understanding and learning and practice. Singing is many things, but it is also a science. When you become aware of how the voice is produced and what you can do with your body to change and manipulate sound, then it's just about doing the healthy thing that produced the nicest sound and then repeating this until it becomes second nature.

"But some people are just born with natural talent!"

Maybe, maybe not. My mother swears to this day that I was singing before I could talk. Is it a gift and natural talent? Or was it something I enjoyed that was nurtured through my childhood that lead to years of practice? Who Knows?

The voice is made up of many things; The vocal cords, the lungs, the diaphragm, the tongue, the teeth, facial structure, the nose! etc. This is your biological makeup and we can't change this. Just like Michael Jordan was build for basketball, some people are biologically built to sing a little easier than others.

In saying this, I have seen it time and time again. People who once thought they were a "hopeless case", "tone deaf" etc, were simply singing with the wrong technique. We unlearn those habits, readjust a few things and now they're playing open mic nights.

"What skill level do you teach?"

I have taught people from all ages, 2-72 and all skill levels, from absolute beginners, who have never sung in front of anybody before, to professional musicians who perform every week.

I've been with 3 different vocal teaches and Paige is by far the best. She has taught me things I never would have thought about when singing and explains everything so well. The lessons are always super fun while she constantly pushes my boundaries to discover things I never thought I'd ever be able to do. 2 million stars/5
